We spoke to Guillermo, team leader at the warehouse.
Ranzijn - specialist in Garden and Animal
Ranzijn tuin & dier consists of 15 shops, each with a garden centre and an animal specialty shop. Besides the garden and animal department, most shops have a veterinarian practice, grooming salon and dog wash. Ranzijn tuin & dier also has a webshop where you can order its products online. In other words, no unknown name for the garden and/or animal lovers among us!
Ranzijn offers a good quality of contemporary assortments for gardens and animals. They only offer products that their professionals want to work with. If they don't support a product, you will not find it in the shop. Quality is therefore self-evident. And they are careful in their choice, not only in product range, but also in staff.

Guillermo is team leader of the warehouse in the logistics centre. The warehouse includes four sections; order picking, the web orders and shipments, plants and part crossdock. "Crossdock means that we receive pallets and we actually start distributing them immediately to our 15 branches."
Guillermo is responsible for all daily activities. He makes sure that the order pickers can pick orders and he also manages the entire group. If there is a problem, he solves it. What's challenging here is that they never know what will happen tomorrow. They always have to make sure that the goods are transported. This sometimes involves a very fast switch. The deliveries regularly come from China, and every now and then there can be a surprise. The surprise is that they don't know what is in it, or how it is packed.
Flexible staff planning
Guillermo also takes care of the staff planning. Each week, the schedule can be completely different. He looks at the expectations in terms of weather and turnover. "When I'm short-handed, I partly fill in this gap via Temper." Previously, he used a temp agency, but Guillermo clearly notices the differences now that he has FreeFlexers running around via Temper. "We had to keep explaining the work to the temporary workers, also because different people were coming in all the time. That was a disadvantage. Because usually we are busy arranging things in the evening and if there is no computer around it is handy to have your planning in the app."
