The labour market remains tough – this is also very evident at Temper with lots of shifts for FreeFlexers to choose from. As a client, you really need to make sure your shift stands out from the crowd. But how do you do it? We’ve got your back – here are five practical tips to client stardom.

1. Upload a winning photo

Add one or more photos to your company's profile that quickly show what the location of your company looks like and what it’s like to work there. It’s true what they say, a picture says a 1000 words! As a FreeFlexer scrolling through the shift overview, their eye is more likely to fall on a stand-out, eye-catching sharp photo of the location. This all makes it more likely they’ll take a look at your shift page.

2. Offer a competitive hourly rate

The great thing about the Temper platform is that you’re in control, which also applies to setting your hourly rate. In order to stand out from all the other shifts, setting a competitive hourly rate is very important. As a guide for setting the hourly rate, check the average rate of similar shifts in your area. This will give you the best chance of getting applications from the best FreeFlexers.

3. Use a full description of the shift

Panel interviews with FreeFlexers show that, when choosing a shift, they pay close attention to the description and any extra details provided. This makes it easy for them to see what the shift and activities entail in a few short paragraphs or listed in bullet points This makes it clear to them what to expect and what they have to comply with. Also think about details such as any possible delays to the end time, the breaks they can take and the accessibility of the location by public transport.

4. Plan your shifts as far ahead as possible

Most FreeFlexers prefer to plan their shifts a few weeks to a month in advance. The further ahead you are, the fewer shifts that get posted by other clients, making your shift stand out even more.

What’s great about this approach is that on the one hand, it’s good to give FreeFlexers more time to respond to lots of shifts and, on the other hand, you have more time as a client to screen the applications based on ratings and work experience. And don’t worry, if you’re not sure yet whether you’ll need FreeFlexers in a few weeks time – you can choose a flexible cancellation period of your choice like being able to cancel your shift up to 24 hours in advance.

5. Publish a recurring shift

Scrolling through the shifts, many may be overlooked. So post a recurring shift for several days in the week or month. A shift that is scheduled more often, or even daily, stands out more in the shift overview to the FreeFlexer than a single shift per month. Repetition is the key word here.

Use these tips to put the spotlight on your company's shifts, and the best applications will soon flood in. If you want to publish shifts on Temper – sign up here.
