Temper has appointed Niek van Leeuwen as Chief Executive Officer, effective as of 17 August. Van Leeuwen, who previously worked for Heineken and Uber, succeeds Paul Eggink as Founder/CEO.

In 2016, Temper introduced the platform for FreeFlex work. The new form of flexible work in which everyone has the opportunity to be their own boss. Temper does this by bringing supply and demand together on-demand, using smart technology. This provides over 10,000 companies in hospitality, retail, and logistics with a motivated flexible workforce, and ensures that over 100,000 FreeFlexers have easy access to well-paid work. This is how Temper works on the future of work.

Van Leeuwen started his career at Heineken in 2007, after which he held various international management positions within the brewer's portfolio. In 2012, van Leeuwen was appointed as one of the first senior employees of Uber in Europe. In his last role, van Leeuwen was responsible for all Uber activities in the Benelux, Scandinavia and the Baltic States.

Niek van Leeuwen: 'It is an honour to work for Temper, and to be able to make a positive contribution to the future of the labour market. I am eager to continue building on the future of work, together with this talented organisation.
