After a successful first shift via the platform, Sander Martens, Food & Beverage Manager at NH Eindhoven Conference Centre Koningshof, was enthusiastic. Tell us about NH Eindhoven Conference Centre Koningshof.

"NH Koningshof is one of the largest conference hotels in the Benelux. The hotel has 509 rooms, 80 meeting halls and 5,000m2 of conference space. We mainly receive business travellers who come for the conferences. We host various events; from medical congresses to World Cups and European Championships dancing."

Why did you start working with FreeFlexers through our platform?

"We heard about the platform through a colleague at NH Conference Centre Leeuwenhorst. Because we host a lot of conferences, we have to deal with peaks in our staffing requirements. And by peak, I mean about 35 to 400 people a day. Our temp agency couldn't handle the demand either. Because Temper is easy to use, we tried it out of curiosity. And we liked it, very much."

You now have a flexpool of 45 FreeFlexers. Does this affect the number of responses to a shift?

"Definitely. Because we have such a large flexpool have, shifts are almost always picked up. Sometimes we have as many as 60 applications in one day. Then it's still a big job to pick the best FreeFlexer. What works well is planning jobs far ahead. That way everyone from flexpool has time to apply. Any jobs that then remain are for new FreeFlexers."

"The shifts we put on the platform are varied. That's why there is a suitable gig for everyone. We have long and short shifts, but also different starting times. Every event is different too. A medical conference attracts completely different guests than dance competitions. In addition, we have a permanent team, most of whom have been with us for 15 years or more. "Absolutely. I've already done that several times. The platform is ideal for setting up a flexpool. You can choose your own FreeFlexers. Even if it is sometimes quite a job with 60 applications, haha. The quality of FreeFlexers is good, because they work for their own rating. They are motivated, work hard and ask for work when it's quiet. That's a huge difference compared to workers via a temp agency."
