Can I negotiate the hourly rate for a shift?

Do you have great wine knowledge, speak multiple languages, or need to come from far and want to cover your travel costs? These are all good reasons to negotiate the rate for your freelance shift.

How to make a counter-proposal

1. Select the shifts wherefore you want to apply.
2. Click on the symbol next to the apply now button
3. Explain why you deserve a higher rate and let them know how much you want to earn.

How does this work?

The client receives your application with the request for a higher hourly rate. Keep in mind:

• You can only be chosen for the hourly rate you have asked for, the client can’t negotiate back
• Your negotiate hourly rate can't be adjusted during your open application.
• If you are not chosen, you can only apply again for a lower hourly rate than your negotiated one. Did the hourly rate raise meanwhile? Then you will be able again to apply for a higher hourly rate.

Substitution

If you have your shift substituted, your substitute will work for the negotiated hourly rate. The client will have higher expectations, so it’s very important to choose the right person who is worth the higher rate. If the substitute receives a lower rating, this will also be reflected on your profile.
