How am I rated for a shift?

After every shift, the company you worked for leaves you a rating: a thumbs up, a thumbs down, or even two thumbs up

On your profile, companies can see your overall average rating across all your shifts, as well as your average per category, like serving, independent chef, order picker, or delivery.

This helps you stand out and shows companies what you’re great at when they’re choosing between multiple applicants.

What does each thumb mean?

👎 Thumbs down: There was a problem.

👍 Thumbs up: You did well.

👍👍 Two thumbs up: You really impressed!

We use these ratings to calculate an overall score for you, which helps us match you with the right shifts.

Already have ratings as a freelancer in the old freelance platform?

If you worked through the freelance platform before, you might’ve received 1 to 5-star ratings. We’ll take these ratings over to the new platform.

Here’s how those stars convert into thumbs:

  • 1 to 3 stars → 👎 Thumbs down
  • 3.5 to 4.5 stars → 👍 Thumbs up
  • 5 stars → either 👍 or 👍👍, depending on how you compare to others in the same job. Top performers with lots of 5-star reviews get 👍👍.

So your past experience still counts, we just show it a bit differently now!

When will my checkout be approved?

After you submit your hours, the client has 7 days to approve the checkout. If this period expires, our system will automatically process your checkout on the eighth day. In that case, you will not receive a rating, but the payment process will start.

Counter-proposal

It can happen that the company doesn’t agree with the hours you submitted. If that’s the case, they can then make a counter-proposal. You can accept this, or you can make another counter-proposal yourself. Both of you have the option to add a message to explain to each other why you are suggesting the new hours.

Employed shift exceptions

For some employee shifts, you cannot complete the checkout yourself. In these cases, the company reports your worked hours to us, and we make sure they are processed correctly. The timeframe in which a checkout can be approved may also vary for these shifts. You can find more information about this in the shift description.

If, after receiving your payment and payslip, you believe something is incorrect, you can always contact the company to discuss it.

Can the company see the rating I gave them?

During checkout, you can give the company you worked at a rating in the form of a thumbs up or thumbs down. Your rating is not visible to them, but it helps other flex workers.

I’m having a dispute with the company about my checkout.

If the client didn’t agree with your checkout, you can always make a counterproposal for them to respond to. If they still don’t agree with your proposed hours, it’s a good idea to get in touch with them directly.

Contact the company

The best way to solve the problem is to reach out to the company directly. Call or email them as soon as possible to discuss the situation. Explain your side clearly and listen to theirs. Usually, this is enough to resolve the issue. Mistakes happen, and often a short conversation is enough to clear things up.

The checkout is approved, but it’s incorrect

  • Employed shift: Hours can still be corrected with their confirmation. Ask the hiring company to send us a message if an adjustment is needed.
  • Freelance shift: The invoice is generated immediately after checkout, so it can’t be changed afterward. In this case, you can work with the client to find a solution, for example by adjusting the hours slightly on the next shift or issuing a corrective invoice.

Contact us if needed

If you’re unable to work it out together, we are here to support you. Keep in mind, though, that we weren’t on-site during the shift and may not have all the details.

Further, a dispute about a freelance shift is really between you and the client, and since we are not a contracting party, we can’t mediate in solving any disputes.

We always try to help as much as we can. While we cannot guarantee that every disagreement will be fully resolved, we’ll do our best to guide you. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need support.

I didn’t work, how do I complete the checkout?

If the shift has already started and you missed it for any reason, you can report this yourself in the checkout.

  • Go to the shift in your dashboard
  • Click ‘Report absence’ (this only appears after the shift has ended, if you don’t see it yet, try again later)
  • Fill in the form and explain to the company why you weren’t there

The company will then review your report and decide whether or not to mark you as a no-show. No-shows have a negative impact on your profile and may lead to further consequences.

Can I change my choice of payment method afterwards?

For freelance shifts you can choose between two payment methods during checkout. Since our system is fully automated it’s not possible to change the payment method after you’ve completed your checkout.

I submitted incorrect hours during checkout.

Did you submit incorrect hours in the checkout? No worries, contact the company where you worked the shift. If they haven’t accepted the hours yet, they can make a counter-proposal that you can then approve.

But once the hours have been accepted, the checkout can’t be easily adjusted. The solution for this depends on the shift.

How do I submit my worked hours?

After your shift, it’s time to complete the checkout. You write down the hours you worked and leave a rating for the company where you did your shift.

  • Go to My Work
  • Select Shifts at the top
  • Click on the shift under To Do
  • Start Checkout

There are a few small things to keep in mind might depending on whether it’s a employed or freelance shift.
