Being sick is never pleasant, especially when you can’t work but your fixed expenses continue. If you’re unable to work due to illness (temporarily or longer), it’s understandable that you want to know what applies to you financially. This depends on the shifttype.
Employed shift
If you’re sick at a moment when you’re employed by us, you are entitled to continued salary payment according to the terms of your employment. No additional insurance is needed. Contact support as soon as you’re sick so we can help you further.
Freelance shift
If you’re ill for a longer period of time, you may be eligible for a benefit through Alicia Benefits.
You’re eligible if you’ve worked at least 10 shifts through Temper and your last shift was less than 3 months ago. Short-term illness (less than 2 weeks) is not covered.
The benefit is based on your average earnings in the 3 months before you became unable to work. Usually, it is 70%, or 90% in the first year if you’re a member of the Stichting Vrij Platformwerk.
