During your shift, you’re always covered for certain things. But the coverage is a bit different for employed shifts and freelance shifts. Check out the info below.

Employed shift

During your employed shift, you’re automatically covered by two standard insurance policies: liability insurance and accident insurance. This means you’re well protected in most situations. A reassuring safety net in case something goes wrong at work.br>br>

Liability Insurance

Think of it as a safety net in case something goes wrong at work.

Covered:

  • Accidentally break something or hurt someone? You’re covered. Think of knocking over a display or spilling coffee on someone’s laptop.
  • Certain legal costs are also covered, for example if a conflict needs to be resolved (as long as it’s approved, of course).

Not covered:

  • Damage to your own belongings if it’s your own fault.
  • Anything involving motor vehicles (see below).
  • Damage caused intentionally or if you didn’t follow the rules.
  • Costs to redo work if the first attempt wasn’t done properly.

Accident Insurance

If because of an accident, you get injured or your belongings are damaged during your shift

Sickness

During your employed shifts, you are temporarily employed. This means that if you become ill, even for a longer period, you’re covered and will continue to receive income. You don’t need any additional insurance for this.

Special case: UberEats shifts

Doing a delivery shift for UberEats through Temper? Good news, Uber has its own insurance that covers you during those shifts.

  • It covers damage you cause to other people or their property
  • You're not covered when driving a motorized vehicle, damaging your own property, or driving unsafely. Stay protected by following these road safety guidelines.

You don’t need to do anything to activate this, Uber handles it automatically. Do contact them if you want to file a claim.

Important: If you're using a motorized vehicle (like a scooter or moped), you're responsible for having your own legal insurance for it. Uber and Temper don’t cover motorized vehicles under their regular insurance.

Freelance shift

During your freelance shift, you’re automatically insured in partnership with Alicia Benefits. It’s completely free of charge for you and you’re covered for liability, accidents, and in some cases even disability. A reassuring safety net, so you can focus on your work with confidence.

Business Liability

What’s covered?

  • Damage you cause to someone else or to someone else’s belongings (for example, a client).

What’s not covered?

  • Damage to motor vehicles.
  • Damage to your own belongings.

Accident Insurance

  • If you become permanently disabled due to an accident, you’ll receive financial support through a one-time payout. Certain costs, like hospital stays or accident-related expenses, may also be reimbursed.
  • This coverage applies during your freelance shifts (not during your commute).

Disability Insurance (up to 2 years)

  • If you’re completely unable to work due to illness or an accident, you’ll receive financial support until you recover, with a maximum of two years.
  • There’s also a one-time benefit for bereavement leave and maternity/paternity or adoption leave.
  • This coverage becomes active once you’ve worked more than 10 shifts via the Temper platform.

How does it work?

In profile, you can go to My insurances. There, you’ll find an overview of all your insurance coverage. You can report damage through this page, directly during shift check-out, or for past shifts through your dashboard.
