As soon as you sign up for your first shift, you will be directed to the ID verification process. To complete your registration, you must first upload a valid form of identification.
On the platform, you will find two types of shifts: employed shifts and freelance shifts. Depending on the type of shift you apply for, there may be a few things you need to sort out before you can get started.
Employed shift
For employed shifts, you temporarily become an employee at Temper. You don’t need any special registration for this, but when signing up for your first shift, you’ll sign a framework agreement. And for each shift you work, you’ll receive a separate temporary employment contract.
Payroll tax credit
It’s good to decide whether you want to make use of the payroll tax credit (loonheffingskorting). This allows you to keep more net income, but you can only apply this credit with one employer at a time. If you’ve already enabled this at another job, you can’t also use it for your employed shifts.
Freelance shift
Freelance shifts are intended for self-employed professionals. You need a VAT ID to work these.
Don’t have a VAT ID yet, and want to see if running your own business is something for you? You can work one freelance shift without needing a VAT ID. After that, you need to apply for a VAT ID with the Belastingdienst (Tax Administration) or register with the Kamer van Koophandel (Chamber of Commerce).
