What’s the cancellation policy?
Every shift has a cancellation period. That’s the time frame during which you can cancel a shift you’ve been accepted for without consequences. The period applies to both you and the company where the shift is scheduled.
If either you or the company cancels the shift, there may be consequences. The rules are slightly different for employed and freelance shifts.
Employed shifts have a standard 48-hour cancellation period. Both you and the company can cancel without consequences as long as the 48 hours haven’t started yet.
If the company cancels within 48 hours:
- Full pay: You’ll get the full shift payment. No need to complete the checkout as this is handled automatically after the company cancels you.
If you cancel within 48 hours:
- Possible no-show & strikes: The company may mark you as a no-show, which can affect your profile. You can dispute a no-show once. If the company still decides to give the no-show, you may also get one or multiple strikes.
For freelance shifts, the client decides the cancellation period, but you agree to it when applying for a shift. You can check it in the shift description before applying. It can be 24, 48, 72 hours, or even 7 days.
If the company cancels late
- Payment of 50% of the planned shift: The company must cancel via the platform so you can file a claim for half the shift pay.
If you cancel late
- Find a substitute: As a freelancer you can always ask someone else to take over your shift. Via the platform, you can search for a substitute.
- Possible no-show: If no one takes over the shift, the company can mark you as a no-show. which lowers your show-up percentage. You can dispute this through a no-show dispute and ask the client to waive it.
